On June 26th 2014, 3Shape received the King Frederik IX's Award that honors the company's outstanding success in developing global market export of its high-tech solutions targeted for the dental and hearing aid industries.

Nicholas Deichmann, Tais Clausen and the Prince Consort Henrik

3Shape's two founders, Nicholas Deichmann and Tais Clausen received the award personally from His Royal Highness, the Prince Consort Henrik aboard the Royal ship Dannebrog. Four other Danish companies also received awards along with 3Shape.

"These companies have earned this. They have all done remarkably well in export markets and have managed to increase their export activity," said Denmarks Minister for Trade and Development, Mogens Jensen.

"The Award is an honor for our company," responded 3Shapes Managing Director and CEO Flemming Thorup. "Export has from the outset been very central to our business, and dental professionals in the U.S., Japan and Germany were among our first customers. Our solutions are being used today in thousands of labs in more than 100 countries worldwide. In the short 13 years that 3Shape has existed, we have already cemented our position among the market leaders – despite fierce international competition."

The King Frederik IX's Award was established in 1972, and has been awarded once each year ever since. Award winners are selected on the basis of export advances and growth over a minimum of three years.
