Dr. Winderbaum has more than twenty years of experience using high-end intraoral scanners and up until now, had been disappointed with their performance. His office, Lake Wales Dental Group, does most of their restorative work with an in-house lab for better and quicker service - time is of the essence for his clients. Read how he managed to speed up his processes and get more accurate impressions.
Dr. Winderbaum’s office focuses on implantology: all on x hybrid cases, crown and bridge, full mouth reconstructions, all types of dentures and cosmetic dentistry. His practice includes an in-house lab where he does most of his restorative work. In this way, he can provide better and quicker service to his patients and collaborate with his lab technicians for scanning and preparation advice. Therefore, when he faced performance issues with his previous intraoral scanner, Dr. Winderbaum decided it is time for a change.
“...With digital solutions, we can deliver great restorations and prostheses with incredible speed. ”
According to Dr. Winderbaum, “going digital is the best way to speed up the process and with 3Shape, it has proven itself more accurate than conventional impressions,” in his opinion. As his clinic works with an in-house lab for CAD design and 3D printing, he can provide better and quicker service to his patients.
As for most practices, a patient’s biggest concern is time. ”So, with digital solutions we can deliver great restorations and prostheses with incredible speed. A major benefit is the ease of making corrections or new temporary hybrids or zirconia restorations can be made within hours vs. weeks.”
Over the summer, he purchased 3Shape’s top-of-the line, TRIOS MOVE+ intraoral scanner. Dr. Winderbaum backed this up by saying that “when the top 1% of digital practitioners use TRIOS, you should listen.” When he purchased his TRIOS, it was mainly for his staff and patients. He felt that the staff would be better suited and would benefit most from using the scanner. He also felt that patients would certainly appreciate the change.
Dr. Winderbaum’s practice is in a rural area in Florida, but close enough to Orlando to be home to NASA and Disney employees. So, it’s a highly educated clientele. His engineering patients are particularly impressed by the scans and technology. And because he has no other equipment in his practice that quite resembles a TRIOS MOVE +, it alone stands out. In addition, patients notice our team’s passion for their well-being when you’re constantly updating and are investing in your practice. They appreciate that.”
“Everyone seems to be happy with faster planes and trains, why not do high quality and fast dentistry?”
Now, after just three months of using 3Shape TRIOS, Dr. Winderbaum says that “there is really only one scanner, TRIOS!” The WOW factor from patients has been outstanding. And the staff appreciates the scanner’s ease of use, reliability, and having few to no rescans. In addition, because the scanner is wireless, Dr. Winderbaum says that “there is never any problems with the cord connections, which can be a nightmare.”
Dr. Winderbaum himself was particularly impressed with a recent all-on-X case begun with his TRIOS that he said dropped right in and was the easiest he has ever experienced in his career. He adds that a recent implant crown was ”beyond perfect with no adjustments” and a copy denture that the patient absolutely loved. He finds his restorations have an excellent fit and could not be happier with the results from switching to TRIOS MOVE+.
