TRIOS Care conversion – FAQ

Frequently asked questions about converting legacy subscriptions to TRIOS Care and what it means for TRIOS customers to be on our premium subscription. 3Shape strives to continuously improve the experience for our TRIOS users. In 2021, we introduced TRIOS Care: our premium service agreement for TRIOS scanners. If you currently have a legacy subscription and you would like to try the improved benefits of TRIOS Care, please contact your reseller and request conversion. We have already converted customers that renew their subscription directly with us from their legacy subscription to TRIOS Care.

What do I pay for TRIOS Care?

If you have a legacy subscription today, you can convert to TRIOS Care without ‘conversion fee’ or ‘upgrade fee’. Your subscription price will adjust to the most recent pricelist and all TRIOS Care benefits will be in effect. If you have already been converted by us, you will get TRIOS Care for the same price as you have been paying for your previous subscription.

What does it mean for me?

Your benefits will improve once you have updated your Unite / TRIOS software to the latest version and the conversion has been carried out. The benefits include:

  • Five years of warranty from original purchase date
  • Warranty coverage of both scanner and pod/MOVE+
  • Express replacement
  • Accidental drop coverage
  • 10 TB Cloud Storage*
  • 4 annual Exclusive Lectures with 3Shape trainers
  • 25% discount on additional TRIOS Care subscriptions

*Cloud storage is only available with Unite Cloud, which runs on Unite 24.1 and newer versions.

What is TRIOS Care and what is included?

TRIOS Care is our premium service agreement that provides complete peace of mind as soon as you switch on your TRIOS scanner. It enables you to focus on providing great treatments and reaching your full digital potential with unlimited support, warranty, express replacement, 10 TB cloud storage, exclusive trainings, and more. How do I update my software?

For information and a step-by-step video on how to update your software, simply log on to 3Shape Community, and go to the training section called 3Shape Unite Upgrade.

What if I do not want to upgrade to a new version of Unite?

It is vital to always have the latest version of our Dental Desktop / Unite platform from a performance and security point of view. It will allow you to benefit from all the continuous improvements and added features in the software, and we generally experience higher customer satisfaction when customers are on newer software versions. Lastly, as per TRIOS Care, TRIOS Only & TRIOS Care Corporate Terms and Conditions, 3Shape is not obliged to offer support for customers on older software versions.

How do I know if I have been converted?

When you have updated your software to 3Shape Unite 24.1 or newer, you can check whether you have been converted to TRIOS Care by going to the Unite Store and the License page to see a list of your 3Shape subscriptions. If TRIOS Care is not listed as one the licenses, please reach out to your reseller or the 3Shape support team (see the section “I need further assistance, who can I reach out to?”).

What are the downgrade rules for users converted from CliniCare to TRIOS Care?

The same as for new sales except a 24-month commitment. In the last 90 days of the 24-month period, you can downgrade to TRIOS Only. Following this period, you can request a downgrade to TRIOS Only at any time without additional charges, which will then be activated once your current contract period is completed.
